Kunwara Hindi Movie - A Review

Kunwara is a 2000 Hindi comedy film directed by David Dhawan and starring Govinda, Urmila Matondkar, Nagma, Om Puri, Kader Khan and Johnny Lever. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Bavagaru Bagunnara. The film received negative reviews from critics and performed poorly at the box office.

The plot of the film revolves around Raju (Govinda), who meets Urmila (Urmila Matondkar) in New Zealand and falls in love with her. They plan to meet again in India, but Raju encounters Sharmila (Nagma), a pregnant woman who has been abandoned by her boyfriend. Raju decides to help her by pretending to be her husband and takes her to her family's home. However, he soon realizes that Urmila is Sharmila's younger sister and has to deal with the consequences of his lie.

The film tries to be a comedy of errors, but fails to generate any laughs. The jokes are stale, the situations are contrived and the characters are annoying. Govinda and Urmila have no chemistry and their romance is unconvincing. Nagma is wasted in a thankless role and Om Puri and Kader Khan are reduced to caricatures. Johnny Lever provides some comic relief, but his scenes are few and far between.

The music of the film is composed by Aadesh Shrivastava and has eight songs. The songs are average and do not add much to the film. The only memorable song is "Ladka Kunwara", which is a catchy dance number featuring Govinda and Urmila.

Kunwara is a disappointing film that does not live up to the expectations of the David Dhawan-Govinda combination. It is a dull and boring affair that should be avoided by all means.
